Hands from WSOP main event
Hi,
I was wondering if you could help me settle a debate I am having with a friend over these 2 hands. Both hands are the first hands of the WSOP main event. I would appreciate your opinion on what you would do, and most importantly what you think an average player should do. (I understand because of your skills, you would fold marginal situations that others should play)
Many thanks in advance!
HAND 1
You hold AA and 7 players in front of you go all-in.
What is your play? And what should an average player do?
HAND 2
Two players go all-in in front of you in the BB. You are getting ready to throw your AJo away when all of a sudden, both players flash their cards and you see they hold KTs and 98s. You will win about 38% of the time, getting 2:1 on your money. At the table are also seated Daniel Negreanu, Howard Lederer, Johnny Chan and Jennifer Harman.
What is your play? And what should an average player do?
Thanks a lot!

Nick the Quick,
I think you've got to call. You're about a 1-2 dog, but you're getting 7-1 on your money. Yeah, it's the first hand of the tourney, but if you win you can be a big stack and put yourself in a position to play bully. Be in it to win it!
Second question: If I can see their cards, why would I push all-in? I'll just wait till after the flop, and drive if they miss or fold if they hit. Your question seems to suggest that you should try to double through on an about-even-money prop against two yutzes, 'cause you'll need the money to go to war with the pros. But that's not the 'tude you should have. They should be afraid of you, not you of them. Bottom line: too slim an edge for the payoff. I'll see a flop and use their errors against them.
