Is there much value to playing the free play chip NL Hold'em games online? It seems like the way people toss around fake money on a whim takes a lot of strategy out of the game, and makes the flop more like slots than poker. Thanks,

The value is in learning how the game works: blinds, antes, bets, raises, hand values, all of that. Yeah, there's some pretty tweaked play out there because who cares about free money? But then again, there are lots of people just like you who're trying to find their feet in the game and work on their skills. They want to play right and they want to win, even if nothing's at stake. Look for freeroll tournaments on the play money side of the sites. Pride makes people try their best, even if there's no money at stake. And sometimes those freerolls offer something of real value, like a tournament entry chip, and then people will definitely play to win. Also, you should always be playing to win, even for no money. Just 'cause everyone else is playing like crap doesn't mean you should, too.
